Facial Rejuvenation Overview...

One of the great conflicts of our times is between looking tanned and protecting the skin from the ageing effect generated by the sun.

Even in the absence of sun exposure though, time and worries draw lines on our faces. They can be lines that appear only during movements (dynamic lines) and some that are present at rest (static lines). Their management can be approached in customised way for best effects. The consultation will aim to determine your skin type as well as as the ideal overall program for improvement.

Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

Our practice offers the option of using a number of Facial Rejuvenation treatments combined or in isolation. For instance, for management of dynamic lines, such as smile or frown lines, Botox ™ is commonly used a tool to soften muscle contraction and with it the appearance of one's face. For deeper lines, that are present all the time, absorbable (Hyaluronic acid) fillers can be used. New avenues in in the erasing the marks of time have been opened by the use of the patient's own cells, grown in the laboratory as part of the Isolagen™ process.

A more encompassing treatment, which addresses both the fine lines and the overall skin texture and colour, related to sun-damage or ageing, is the chemical peel. This treatment often follows a period of skin preparation with retinoic acid as part of the Obagi Facial Rejuvenation Protocols.
