Nipple Reconstruction

Nipple reconstruction is a minor, but intricate, surgical procedure and can be undertaken if there is absence of a nipple for whatever reason,... more commonly following breast reconstruction after mastecomy for breast cancer.

i routinely perform the surgery under local anaesthetic and it takes about 45 minutes for the total procedure. A dressing is worn over the newly created nipple for a couple of weeks following the surgery and stitches are removed at 2 weeks by our plastic surgery trained nurse.
